This cupola is made from hardwood time and dressed with lead.  It took around a week to complete with just over a day to fashion the lead.

Installing a cupola to your new or existing home is a great way to add interest and character to your roof top.  This architectural detail provides curb appeal – a great way to make your home stand out from the neighbours!

The origins and history of the cupola date back to 8th Century Islamic architecture. The word cupola comes from the Latin ‘cupella’ meaning small cup indicating a vault resembling an upside down cup.   Most cupolas today are constructed from vinyl or wood with traditional shingle or copper roofs.  Their main function is to provide light and ventilation through windows or louvers.
